The scene: a quiet, peaceful morning. You pour that first cup of coffee with cream. Oh, this is the stuff. You make yourself some eggs, sauté up some fresh leafy greens, you dip your artisanal sourdough bread into the runny yolk. All these things are made possible by the rich biodiversity of our planet. Biodiversity, by the way, means the variety of all living things and their interactions. We get to enjoy this bounty of goodness every single day. The plants, the animals, the microorganisms, and even the people here are what make living on this planet extraordinary and perpetually interesting. This is biodiversity. And so far we haven’t found any other planet or space rock that has it. So yeah, once again, it’s special AF that we have it here…and yet human activity is destroying it. Let’s not.
